een nihc chapter 1 . 2/19/2018
I do think that Ryuk has a heart although he denies it. He's like a child sometimes, curious and find amusement in places no one care to look. He is jaded as well, having seen it all as a shinigami. He's the character I like most in Death Note. And you did him justice and more. I prefer to see L and Light crash, and love and burn and die again than dying alone too. I wrote from Ryuk's POV once in my fic called 'Final Destination'. I'll be really stoked if you dropped by and read it. Thank you for this little fic.

The idea that my favorite pairings have bonds or souls that cross times and worlds to be together again is highly romantic and I am giddy you applied it to Light and L . I like your theory and how you justify the differences and how Ryuk as a narrator is a lovely way to see that picture.

My favorite parts were when Ryuk found it almost painful to watch, how them dying alone is worse than their most gruesome ends, and Ryuk being glad he doesn't have a heart because watching them 'crash and love and burn and die again and again would be unbearable.' Is the universe where they get to fall a little more in love with one another the dramaverse? Because that is a great motivation to watch it.

Oh I love it so very much.
Convenient Alias chapter 1 . 6/25/2016
That's actually a really good explanation. Light did seem like kind of a different person in Dramaverse, although L seemed about the same.

I don't get it. Why does this receive so little attention?

A tragic and beautiful take on reincarnation, with Ryuk as witness and instigator. Even if he claims to not have a heart, clearly there's a place somewhere in there for Light! Otherwise he wouldn't follow him through all that

Hello, I search up 25 lives and omg, that's so beautiful. I love how yours have the same kind of melancholy undertone to it and that you did this from Ryuk's POV, because in a way, he is the most honest in telling us how L and Light interacted, isn't he, since the other two are so emotionally stunt in some ways.

It's so canon that had L and Light never met, their life would have been so much more boring, which is tandem to death for them. It's somewhat, morbidly funny that the two genius yet so childish in other ways would somehow manage to make "I'm bored to death!" literal.

L and Light is heartbreaking; people say this a lot but it's like watching a train wreck incoming and unable to look away. For such brilliant people, I'm pretty sure they would prefer to crash and burn and if it was the other that brought him to his end, then all the better.

You started the fic by mentioning that Ryuk didn't have a heart and I started by saying how Ryuk would be more honest, so I'll end by saying that in some way that both seems to be a lie. Ryuk is an interesting character in that he claims he is impartial and that he's only in for the fun, yet without him, L and Light would have been oh-so miserable, which he mentions that is "the most gruesome end they meet in any other." Ryuk is a god, a bad one albeit, which is why he likes playing favorite and that favorite is Light Yagami and if he accidentally did them a favor, well, it was only because that'll be interesting. It's not like he has a heart.

I watched Death Note a long time ago and mostly fell out of the fandom, yet your fics always makes me return (your omega 'verse and now this). Thank you.
