Adorable. Love the way you have his mind working-you're one of the few who actually seemed to capture that-and loved the way he figured "it" out. Brilliant. I was giggling throughout.

...though just FYI, the frog is a bit off. There are only a few dart frogs with that particular toxin, and none of them have those colors. The orange terribilis is the closest, but it's huge, and your frog is small. The only small one is the aurotaenia-black or dark green with yellow stripes.

Again, just FYI. In the grand scheme of the story, the only thing I cared about was how great this was. I look forward to the rest.

I'll just say this: This is so well done. I grinned as I read and the grin is still on my face! Starting with the er, rather deadly member of the Dendrobatidae family, which may or may not, have taken up residence in 221 B...and on to Sherlock's characteristic snarkiness, and finally, the Cause of his Calamitous frame of mind!

Oh my! I can't wait for more and on to the next Chapter right now!
