"familial bands" makes me think of a family ring, not a wedding ring (which is what I assume you're going for at first glance). So, with that said, a better word than familial would probably be matrimonial.

Okay, so, I can't say I can get behind this one. The sentiment is nice and all, but so much of it I just don't agree with.

Harry's speech is just so proper, it just doesn't feel like it's him talking. If it were Draco talking like that yeah, I could be okay with it. He did grow up in a wealthy, proper kind of family where I'm sure he could have heard people talk like that and even spoke like that himself. But Harry, he grew up in a middle class, muggle home where they definitely used contractions and more colloquialisms .

Also, without proper explanation, I find the Weasleys welcoming and even picking Draco over their daughter strange. It's the very cause the Malfoys (Draco included) were involved in that killed their son. I could see them allowing Draco in because they love Harry, but actually picking him over Ginny when it comes down to it? No way. Yes, maybe they'd scold her for talking to Draco like that (because it is rude), but I don't think they'd be like "Ginny, you have to leave." They'd probably be more like "Draco, Harry, maybe it's time you go..." or something along those lines.

I enjoyed reading this and I am glad that the song helped inspire this to be written.
