While Sakura's hopes were coming alive that she and Sasuke were getting to be close, for him to leave again without an actual goodbye, definitely left a mark. Developing their love and the struggle they face with his wanderings away from Konoha are not always easy to manage, so a SasuSaku Hiden was an interesting way to fill in the gaps.
