Heading over from the Portkey archive to leave this review, as I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed this fic. I mean, wow. I didn't think I would love this because Shadow Walks is impossible to top—but this story is in a league of its own, and is equally well-written. As always, you have a wonderful handle on the characters, on tone, on emotional arcs, and your writing style is as gorgeous as ever. I admit that I was one of those who wasn't crazy about AU Hermione in Walks (just because she's not Harry's Hermione, not really), but after reading her story she now has a special place in my heart. God, it was so difficult to see her so hurt and broken, but you've done it so well! You were so true to the essence of Hermione's character despite writing what effectively is an AU: This is exactly how I picture Hermione (in whatever universe) would react to immense loss and grief and indignation. Her quest to find peace, to fight for what she believes in, and to fight for the better life she deserves is my absolute favorite thing.

And while I'm honestly not the biggest fan of the Harry she eventually ended up with (finding him a bit too acerbic for my taste, a little too Malfoy), nor of the concept of him being with Vega Malfoy in any universe (but that's just me!)—I'm so happy she found her way home. As your chapter 18 epigraph said (which was absolutely perfect), Hermione has suffered enough, and it was about bloody time she won.

(I was rooting for Hermione and Susan Bones' Harry, but ah, I can dream!)

Thank you for a wonderful follow-up to Shadow Walks, and for letting us dabble in this multiverse a bit more! I look forward to reading more of your work.

I finished this story on Portkey, moving straight there after finishing Shadow Walks. I enjoyed both stories though have a preference for this one likely because it’s from Hermione’s point of view. The detail, the meshing of worlds, theories, different versions of people is a stunning piece(s) of work! So glad you shared it and I can see why it is so highly recommended. Definitely one of the best pieces of fan fiction I have read! I couldn’t work out how to review on portkey, so reviewed here hopefully without spoiling it for anyone who hasn’t finished it yet!

I'm finishing this story via portkey and I thought I would have lost interest because of Hermione being with a Harry who wasn't actually Harry but he actually is...? Now that I thnk about it, the way you've portrayed Hermione traversing through different universes reminds me of all of the different fics of Harry and Hermione!

Thats so cool, but once again, your stories are so real and immersive, and I cannot help but invest myself into Hermione's well being. After all she's been through, and after all her chosen Harry has been through, how many times do I have to say it? You're the greatest H/Hr writer on this planet.

Very good story, no question, incredibly interesting with all these changes in the various universes, I read both this and shadow walks, and liked both.

Like someone else said, but might as well point it out again, the story is finished on portkey archive site, there's 18 chapters, the author just never posted the last 6 here.

Please, please,please finish this story also . It was so nice that she got to so Harry and Hermione wedding and that Harry knew that Hermione was there. You know what I man lol
