Holy...never have I been more glad about giving something a chance. I took to reading this story on a whim and because the summary was good but I didn't think I'd be this hooked even though the premise clearly isn't ripe for Lawlight (though I still read beyond your words and lines to quench that desire). I thought I was in for a short trip because this had so few reviews but boy was I wrong. Don't judge a book by how popular it is. Should have learned that one completely by now. Sigh.

Your descriptions, characterisation, pacing and plot - they're all brilliant. But what shined the brightest were the deductions. I seriously felt like I was reading Death Note. All the twists and turns and especially mannerisms that could be constructed as anything - oh wow, I'm losing myself here. I'm sorry if I seem emotional but I just came back from reading ooc Lawlight that had them "fulfilling their urges and love towards each other" and my hope in humanity died a little. Your Misa is also very nice, I really liked her replique about L and Kira being similar.

I know you haven't written anything in almost three years but I waited 6 years for a fic to update once and I hope my patience will pay off now. Of course, the only thing I wish more is that you have a plot thought out. Don't worry about mixing in all cliche Lawlight shipping scenarios. Your "proud" Kira is doing all my shipping for me by thinking about L. Anyway, best fic I've read in a while and this could be counted as completed now if that's your jam but I hope you can offer more.

In most fanfictions many possible canon divergences have already been explored, but yours! It's really original in my opinion. Love the characterisation as well

I love what you did with Watari here. Him actually going against L really shows him as more of a character of his own, rather than just a robotic assistant he was in the show.

Very good chapter. This was the best out of them so far. Although now that the notebook is with Light, L can't use it anymore. All he has to do is ask Rem for his name, or have Rem write his name in the notebook, and L's as good as dead. Of course he would have him die on the 13 day mark, because if L died sooner all suspicion would go to Light, and this time, there is no way he could get out of it. So is there only going to be one more chapter, or are you going to continue this? Because Light has won against L. I hate to see the fic end, since it's so good, but it's checkmate.
