Great story! I loved it all the line from Alice in wonderland was nice also and hitchhikers guide to the galaxy nicely fitting in the same story. You are a wonderful writer also using the different historical references wonderful.
Erin chapter 6 . 12/5/2018
Really enjoyed this unique piece. The contrast in the last chapter between the revelations of what Methos lost in leaving this haven behind with what he gained by leaving- the ability to have the mortal heirs amd family denied him as an immortal in a place that treasured him but also refused to let him be anything other than an immortal- a surprise and a thoughtful one. But the characterisation driving the story was wonderfully drawn. Methos the man of myth, Methos who's "just a guy", Methos capable of twisted plans played five steps ahead, Methos who hates surprises but plays everything so close to his chest he is a constant surprise to those around him, even to Joe who really does know him pretty darn well. I also really enjoyed the philosophical debate between preserving history and the reality of knowledge being dangerous in the wrong hands. Joe was an absolute delight, and I loved seeing him team up with his daughter and the other Watchers, something we didn't see enough of in the show. Will return to this one again, I'm sure, and am sure it will continue to intrigue.

Thanks for this story. I love the idea of Methos raising children and have an uncompleted story about the subject myself. Excellent story. I love the idea of the underground city, of the portraits of the Immortals and how they came to be seen as gods, and of Methos getting to see into his past.
Thanks for sharing.

I just love this story - you're capturing Methos perfectly. What wouldn't I do to see this on screen. LOL Anyway, I can actually hear his voice, imagine his gestures, see his face - what a gift to have found this story! Thank you so much! (And I wish you'd write more of its kind :) )
(Just one tiny typo: I think you mean "Roman languages" (not "Romance")
Nanuk chapter 6 . 2/14/2016

Moi chapter 6 . 8/19/2015
PS: I've been pondering people like Timothy Wyatt for a bit. It is intriguing that someone who chose a job that is bound by the directive "to observe and record, but never interfere" would - between the lines - object to an immortal's choice (or at times the frustrating fate when they lack the knowledge or ability to fix things) of NOT leaving their mark on humanity (in the sense of using their theoretically unlimited time to amass knowledge and use it for the benefit of others). It raises that question why mortal watchers who have developed that POV don't rethink their own choice of career that demands inactivity in favor of doing something with their time to change the world. When it comes down to it, Methos is right: he's just a guy, albeit one with a very long lifespan (and the handicap to cover up that fact in regular intervals, unless he dies a public death and he has to leave everything behind).

Thoroughly enjoyed this story. I could hear the characters especially Joe and Methos in my head. Great job.
