I see their logic, and it's reasonable... But wow, humans are scum when the going gets tough.

I think maybe you tried a bit too hard to keep to canon here.

1. Even Nami can't be as heartless as to cause that kind of pain on a 13-year-old, I'm surprised she didn't get flashbacks of what Arlong did to her and the rest of the village. She became exactly what she hated here.

2. What was stopping Zoro from breaking free and decapitating crushing her skull like a ripe melon before she had the opportunity to follow up on her threat? Or at least knock her unconscious, surely with the kid's life at stake he'd act?

3. Why didn't Connor himself knock her out or something? He's definitely a better fighter, it'd be child's play, surely she isn't considered a "master", she did betray Luffy after all? It can't be that he has to listen to EVERYONE right?

I'm gonna be honest here and ust say it. Your writing quality drastically dropped since the first few chapters. It's still readable but it feels like you don't actually want to write it. The only thing that's really changed has been your scene set up and use of words which just dragged the quality of your story through the dirt. I might continue reading this some point in the future but for now, I'm going to put it on reading later until I have nothing else to read.

What's Connor's dream?

I know i'm a bit late on commenting on this story so it probably won't be noticed but i still want to ask; Why doesn't Zoro break out and kill the bitch? Sure she had the threat of pain but she didn't always keep Connor with her and even half dead Zoro could fuck her up no-handed so being partially healed as he is would be no trouble.
