I love it! The insight into Cloud's memories is something I'd love if more people got into.

I totally agree with your assumptions and reasonings about Cloud's memories. In my head, Cloud has more memories as Zack from the time before than he has his own and from those that are from his own point of view, he still had to figure out which ones are real. At the end of Crisis Core, he's a blank slate that gets filled with Zack before over time little things manage to trigger memories that aren't Zack. But those are few and far in between. I think that lack of memory, that lack of solid ground to stand on that can't be recovered or replaced is something that makes Cloud a really complex and fascinating character.

I.. I think you just contested with some headcanons of mine that unknowingly formed when reading various fanfics in this fandom. I'm gonna have to do some thinking now.

I always found that Cloud being shy while with ShinRa irked me a bit, even if it could be used with a good comedic effect (i.e. Killer Cadet by SubZeroChimaera.) Good to know that isn't exactly canon, and I guess I'll have to start finding videos of Crisis Core.

Great story, I really liked it. Not to mention that it brings up an interesting point, the issue of Cloud's memories and the after-effects of what happened to him in Hojo's lab. I do hope you will write more FFVII stories, you are really great at them.
