This is really beautiful! The sadness is described so well and I love how the doctor asked if clara was 'malfunctioning' its so hard for him to understand humans and this dialogue I could hear him saying it so clearly it was real. And how he gradually got her to smile again was lovely because thats how it is with sadness you don't suddenly feel better even when you see someone you love but then they say or do something that comforts and helps you and you smile again and the sadness fades. This is what you captured in your story and its wonderful!
