Very nice job of reflecting on the future as well as the past. Our experiences in the past make us who we are and bring us to our current state. "What good does it do to dwell on the past?" sums it up nicely, especially when he realizes that he wouldn't have had it any other way than to be there with Haydee right then and there, and that it is the future that he can still influence and change.

Very good, I really enjoyed it. It's nice to read something about Dantes' post-revenge life.

I think this extension to the story would be more interesting if it were told i first person, Monte Cristo's P.O.V. Enjoyable to read, nonetheless
