Nice work on this.

It's actually a very well written piece that flows well, and makes my jaded old heart melt like ice cream on a warm spring day. It also nicely explains why Noah was grouped in with the Key children in the actual production. As much as I like his back-story, however, I've got a couple minor criticisms. First, there's no real closure here. I find it hard to believe that an abusive father is going to let his son simply run away. I also don't think that, under any circumstance, this cannot be seen as an abduction. Was Noah's whereabouts become known, I don't think Lawrence will find himself on the legal high ground. Second, the entire thing is much too saccharine. It reads like one of those bad after school specials where everything goes perfectly for the protagonist in the end. Like I was saying before, is it assumed that Noah's dad just goes into an alcohol induced coma which he never awakens from? I need closure, dammit!
