I always thought that Gwaine would know and be accepting of Merlin. Their friendship was a fun one and this is a good one shot full of humor and I loved the reactions. Really enjoyed it.

I love love love this. Like so much. First of all when they were carefree and laughing and running, I felt like I was out in the sun, running and laughing and playing even though I'm actually ill and in bed. It was so rejuvenating and joyous, I can't describe it but their emotions were palpable and I loved it. Then when they met the scary men and Gwaine told Merlin to help in his casual way, I fell in love with Gwaine again. For being the best friend in the world, knowing but not pestering, helping him keep the secret even whilst knowing. I love Merlin's annoyance at everyone's disregard for defensive magic and I feel extremely pleased when they underestimate him because they deserve it then. And I also love Merlin's careless setting up of the shield and their entire conversation and interactions whilst behind it. It was just perfectly characterized, the two of them and their interactions were perfect in every way.
Thank you thank you thank you. For the humour, the happiness and the friendship that you conveyed with the story which brought me a great deal of happiness too. Cheers to you.

"Hey hey hey Leon, how much you want to bet he's going to make a tree branch fall?nah, he used that last week, he's probably going to do the one where he makes their swords have a point... but the branch is a , Gwaine you're on... Arthur?He hasn't tripped anyone recently." Or what if they didn't know that the others knew and they all tried to protect Merlin?

No no no, it's THIS one I want to be canon.

I always love "Gwaine already knows" fics, and this one is no exception. I especially liked how Gwaine told him. It was a pretty great scene- just taking a break from the angry bandits because HOW DID YOU KNOW?! And Merlin's attitude at protective magic... XD
