Reviews for Wise, Fearless and Fair
Sunn-Kissed chapter 1 . 10/30/2004
Beautiful. I am ashamed to admit that I had to read it more than once to get everything that it says.

You captured the (what should have been) Galadriel's thoughts at that moment in time. I love most of your phrasing, but my favourite has to be "What other crown need I, save my own?" In my mind it sums up the musings. I am guessing that it what you wrote it to do.

Enough of my rambling. You may proceed with the rest of your me-free life...now. Unless you feel the urge to respond.
cuthalion chapter 1 . 2/19/2004
This is strong and powerful, and a piece of elegant and beautiful writing. I enjoyed your convincing skill of words. Would you mind if I translated this into german? I run a website with translations of high quality Tolkien Fanfiction, and I would be more than happy to add your story to my list... You can have a look on my site here: .de.
Cm chapter 1 . 2/6/2004
Oh, excellent. V. v. good. My favourite line had to be this: 'Shall I name myself Power, and make myself slave, until at end I sit in solitary dread, fearing all because all fear me, waiting for some rival to strike or steal, surrounding myself with lamps lest shadows hide my Doom?' just absolutely lovely.
the raging quiet chapter 1 . 10/12/2003
this is GREAT the whole way it is written is compleately diffent to what you usually find on it's really origional (sp? sorry I can't spell) Galadriel is one of my farorite charictors and I allways really liked the part in the book where she refuses the ring. -*
Jen Littlebottom chapter 1 . 4/9/2003
Yes, yes! This is Galadriel, knowing what would happen to her, knowing how wrong (right) it would be, and being tempted by it nonetheless.

'Shall I start the tale anew, run back the thread to the beginning, begin the dreadful game again, doing great good and worse ill, in the name of better?'

Shivers down my spine. Wow, wow, and wow.
Mouse chapter 1 . 12/9/2002
Incredible. But you know that. :D

With all the "fanon" Galadriels floating about, it's easy to lose track of why I respected the character in the first place. But this, ah, this is the Galadriel that intrigued me in LotR and later in Unfinished Tales. You paint very well the ideal world she would fashion- the most chilling part being when she speaks of "bending" rebellious minds. Turning from direct physical sovereignty to a more intimate form of control- over opinions and idealogies (until she develops a Stalin-esque paranoia, maybe?).

"Shall I exchange myself for my self's desire..." Mmm, one of my favourite lines, I think. Interesting how she seems to know, even as she's carried away by her ideas and fancies of power, what the cost would be. That's wisdom, I suppose- it doesn't stop you from getting foolish/wrong ideas, only allows you to recognize them as such.

Such a strong, complex character, and faultlessly interpreted by you.
Guest chapter 1 . 12/7/2002
Has anyone ever written an A/U where Galadriel took the One Ring as offered? Seems to me that's a plotline just *screaming* to be written, and I wonder that no one has done it yet.

*bats eyes at P L* I don't suppose you would write one?
Nimbrethil chapter 1 . 12/6/2002
I wish I could say something intelligent, but every time I read your work I'm awestruck to the point of either remaining silent or else babbling incoherently. Your work is amazing, and puts the rest of us to shame. The first thing that leaps to mind is 'How did you learn to write like this?" What I like best is the rhythm. This might as well be poetry.

I would offer up a list of my favorite lines, but in all honesty, I can't pick them out. The list would keep growing until I'd cut and pasted the entire work.

Awesome, literally.
Finch chapter 1 . 12/6/2002
Yes, this was waiting to be written: what it was Galadriel was tempted into, and why, and how she was able to overcome temptation. Excellent.
Matita Pere chapter 1 . 12/6/2002
This is absolutely beautiful! I think even Tolkien would approve!
Ellipsis chapter 1 . 12/5/2002
Wow. Simply, wow. This is wonderful. Galadriel is perfectly in character, and this is bueatifully written. I especially like her musings on everyone she has lost - how tragic.

"Shall I allow no other Song to be sung, save my own, seeking to silence all other harmonies, ascribing to myself sole sovereignty of this land?" - possibly my favorite line in the entire thing.

I am sorry I can't say more, but all I can do is babble about your brilliance.
