Reviews for A Tremor of the Hand
Vespers chapter 5 . 5/18
Thank you so much for writing this.
Vespers chapter 4 . 5/18
I kind of feel happy that she’s finally not, well, suffering anymore. But then I’m also crying, and it’s all your fault. She’ll never be Grand Moff Tua.
Vespers chapter 3 . 5/18
I love you characterisation. So much. This is what I live for. Poor Tua.
Vespers chapter 2 . 5/18
I feel even more evil. Poor Tua.
Vespers chapter 1 . 5/18
I feel so evil reading this. I laughed so much at ‘The tremor in her hand grew worse still.’
I love that Maketh Tua is so self-aware about her short-comings and is just suffering. Thank you so much for writing this.
Oh, and Kallus. ‘As for a conscience Minister, a conscience is simply a luxury we cannot afford. As I recall the Jedi were beings of conscience who refused to unleash their full potential. Look what became of them.’
I feel so stupid for not realising that Kallus rhymes with callous, that quote, in that context, shines light on it.
I’ve been living a lie, and you’ve released me from it. Thank you.
Bezerker21 chapter 5 . 11/4/2017
Damn I wish I had found this sooner, it was really good! Great job at showing everyone's thoughts throughout Tarkins arrival. Also at showing the different types of imperials there are. I'm off to see what else you've written, see you soon! Bezerker21 out!
Tom Hilts chapter 5 . 12/26/2016
"Good soldiers follow orders"
I like how much of you pull from more than just the movies, like the games, lore and other show.
Tom Hilts chapter 4 . 12/26/2016
well...i like how you write...but, but...but Mallus!
Guest chapter 5 . 8/24/2016
This is so good! Many interesting thoughts that will stick with me. Thank you very much for writing.
Veriform chapter 1 . 7/21/2016
Oh man, I really like the sense of beleaguered bureaucracy here. The simultaneous high stakes and extreme, objectionable tedium of life for an Imperial bureaucrat are really well-portrayed.
PaladinDelta chapter 5 . 5/31/2016
Great character development you've done for Tua and Kallus. Tua had always come across as a softy Imperial that drew some level of sympathy on her end considering the more zealot Empire loyalists she had around her, i.e Kallus, Tarkin etc but she was no innocent in causing people's lives a misery. As for Kallus well he always came across as a cold and calculating as to be expected in his line of work and you captured it very well.

The chat between Ezra and Kanan was pretty good, seeing Kanan getting through to Ezra to not give up just because you lost one battle and continue to fighting on and learn from his experiences. Overall it was a great fic :).
snake screamer chapter 5 . 5/22/2016
Good stuff, i like how you did kallus thought process an Kanan with Ezra (Too bad it didn't stick when Ezra meet Darth Maul.) again good work.
AshlaTi chapter 5 . 5/19/2016
Hands down one of the best character developers on fanfic. His Majesty the Emperor really dives into the depths of Agent Kallus's mind in this one and comes back out with a well rounded introspective of the villian we all know and may someday love. I would have liked to have seen a crack however, something that would hint at what would happen to him on the Geonosis Moons with Zeb. I can't wait to see how this affects him and what your take on the upcoming alteration will be.

The Ezra part was alright. Kind of like someone questioning how come drone pilots can take out a wedding in Yemen for a single terrorist or police accept bigger and bigger militarization of their police forces to be used on Americans on the street. Just what are we protecting anymore?

As always great update and it's good to see you writing again
1-1 Marines chapter 5 . 5/16/2016
Nice to see Kallus's inner conflict.
That is one way of explaining the incompetence of the Lothal Imperials. Frankly, Tarkin most likely executed Aresko and Grint because they were low enough to be expendable but high enough to be made an example of for Kallus, Tua, and the Inquisitor (note how Inky did the deed instead of, say, a firing squad, which was probably deliberate on Tarkin's part). Plus they did run the Academy, so maybe he got fed up at the marksmanship.
Good to see Kallus remember his first unit and have it affect him.
"Traitor!" You saw The Force Awakens, right?
Overall good update. The bit with Kanan and Ezra at the end was unexpected but nice.
Visor chapter 5 . 5/16/2016
Yeah, no problem!

The epilogue was worth the wait. Having Kallus and Ezra reflect on the events, especially with new information on the former, was nice, using the perspectives that the viewers have noticed; having Kallus mostly focused on the negative aspects of Tua that can't be excused, while Ezra focuses on the sympathetic parts that justify some of her actions.

Seeing Kallus be reminded of Onderon when he sees her body was a nice touch, too, and to have him feel that little tiny piece of sympathy that may or may not be there looks to be a little tiny piece of hope for the future post-"The Honorable Ones", even if sympathizing/forgiving Tua is optional if he were to turncoat or similar.

I also liked it whenever you said, 'good soldiers follow orders'. A nice contrast(?) of the soldiers of the Empire and the soldiers (clones, specifically) of the Republic, concerning the law/orders vs. what they were taught about the morality spectrum.

And at the end of the day, life goes on; Tua is another casualty (albeit with a little more food for thought than just any one individual), but the Empire does not need to recover from such a minute loss when it has such as ample and steady supply of similarly impressionable officers, and the Rebellion will always find another way around.

I really enjoyed this story, and I hope to see wonderful and similarly analyzing works from you in the future! :3
