This has been a pretty good story so far. I can't say I have any major complaints, and the changes you made to canon have been unique enough to keep the story interesting, but not so far away from canon to keep them from fitting in.

Though I can't help but think that if they just wanted to read the book of the dead, they probably could have just bought a copy from the gift shop. Obviously that wouldn't work of the actual book has some magical properties or something, but if all they need is the text, they really could have saved themselves some trouble.
