I very much liked this - I do tend to go w the theory that Watson tended to emphasize and isolate the traits of those in his stories (himself included) for effect...but I can't imagine that his stories would have been immediately loved by those in them. Too much criticism. All that to say, I think Holmes' reaction was quite understandable. I also liked Watson's explanation at the end - good without being too much. Very nice, thanks for writing!
