I read this story a while ago and I remember crying or almost crying. God, it was lovely. Amazing work, truly.

Just what I needed. Been watching The Addams Family in any opportune moment and it made me think of coming back to this when I had another opportune moment. (My husband doing his stats hobby, of course.) I love the carrying of Morticia into the house and up to the bedroom, Grandmama calling out what to do. (The coziness of this washes away those dreadful laugh tracks on the show that are getting on my nerves!) And Gomez' admiration of Morticia is so lovely to behold.

Such fun hearing about Gomez' adventure. At one point the rare species of eel makes one think of The Addams ghoulish effect, but on the other hand I'm led to recall Doc Ricketts of Cannery Row and all the bedlam in his undertakings to study sea-life ;) Nice title of the ship! ! ! And the location on sea! Brilliant! And Fester's offering was so heartwarming, too.

Now i know Gomez is goes to the bermuda triangle he spent moths to build a bought until he finally back but the addams thought he was dead speacially Morticia

So the conclusion is Morticia thought Gomez was dead?

I love this fanfic so much! Oh all the FEELS! My goodness, this was just so sad and scary and sexy and funny and...just perfect! Rollercoaster ride of emotions and sooo beautifully written 3 3 3

The uncertainty of who is calling Morticia: quite haunting. Intensely deep as she is reaching for who awaits her. The slow movement of romance is effectual, making one curious. All the finer affections do involve this sense of exploration.

Very glad I read this in Winter. So far all of The Addams Family I've viewed expresses that adoration for the couple, but this was intensely reflective to Morticia alone. This is a change for me and I love it. It's introspective. All the snow, the wintery effect, the darkness of that. The angry sea, the smells Gomez left in the sheets. Beautifully expressed.

What seems to define great Addams Family material is how reined in the metaphors are, the symbolism, the Gothic array to so confined a space. The numbness of the cold is part of her, she's moving slowly through the homestead she adores as much as her husband and her family.

With my plate so full it may be a while until I move on to chapter 2, but let me give my thanks for this chapter. I'm looking forward to the next! Very poetic!
