Oh what a lovely story! Poor Thorin, all pressured into something he does not want to do! but hey, so is the hardships of being King. I was torn between indignation for Kili for not apparently being 'enough' of an heir to merrit Thorin not having to get married, but then again, I do not see him willing to give up Tauriel to be King. So with Fili out for the time being - which I was SOOOO happy you let him wake up - I could see why the people needed to be reassured that the line of Durin would continue.

I enjoyed your OC character, she had both spunk and spirit and a mouth that would not quit. however, being of royal background herself, she kind of grew up that way I supose, not willing to bow to anyone and able to stand up for herself. Thorin had met his match. ha ha.

Loved how she told him to let Kili and Tauriel marry, drawing on her background and all with unrequited love. And then she had to be the one to tell Thorin that Fili was in love with his intended bride. ha ha. Oh man, I bet that really sucked for Fili, to come out of his coma only to find that the lovely lady he returned from the grave for was taken...by his UNCLE. I am sure he was over the moon when Thorin approached him and asked him to reveal his true feelings. Wish you would have written that in...Fili is my favorite and he got so little 'air time'. ha ha.

I absolutely loved this story! Any chance you might do a sequel or even a one-shot, so we can get a bit more Thorin/Mistress Aire? I really enjoyed their dynamic and wasn't quite ready to let them go just yet. :)
