This is such a freaking interesting take on the “falling into Westeros” concept! You’re writing Bess’s reactions to the whole thing realistically and in a way that makes me really sympathize with her, and it’s very enjoyable to read. The fact that she’s experiencing a moment of weakness and struggle but still shows here and there that she is, in fact, a strong character who can pull through this is also! So refreshing. And I loved her interaction with ghost, and I cannot wait to see what happens now that Bess will be forced to tell the truth — or whatever she can pass for the truth, that is! They were BOTH horrible and there's nothing wrong with the author choosing to use a Protestant victim instead of Catholic ones. But since you brought up the many Catholic deaths brought about by Elizabeth, I guess I'll bring up the thousands of deaths that the Catholic Church has caused over the centuries.
