This was fantastic. Oh god I loved these scenes in the movie. Hurt!Kili and protective big brother Fili ... and this was a nice touch on that. Thank you for sharing.

This little scene truly explains why "I belong with my brother." That's one of Fili's best and perhaps most character-revealing lines, though we don't really get to see what it means in the movie. And what it means is what you've shown here: you don't leave your sibling to face fear and death alone. I think it's realistic to show Kili losing hope in himself when he probably thinks he's going to die. I've got a soft spot for these brothers because I'm very close to my only sibling, too, and it was a bit heart-wrenching to read this.
