This was so beautiful! I love the connection between Sokka and Bumi, as they've definitely both been through a lot, having to deal with being non-benders in bending families. I definitely agree with everything you've written in your author's note. Bumi was at a disadvantage from day one, which I think your story shows really well. Plus I love seeing older Sokka! It's a shame he isn't in the show except for flashbacks.

I like your characterization of him and I completely agree. I wish they elaborated this in in the series

I totally agree, lots of people want to make Aang as some sort of saint, but he had plenty of faults and his narrow mindness at times nearly finished the gang off more than once.
