OMGOSH! I've only read two chapters and this is already BY FAR my favorite fanfiction ever! I don't know if you have already written up to this point yet, but I vote for Hermione/Percy ALL THE WAY! But could you make Annabeth super jealous!

Okay, I can tell you now, just by looking at the first paragraph that this story needs a bit of work.
Step 1: Break up any paragraph longer than 7 sentences if at all possible, and it usually is.
Step 2: Reread the books, again and again if necessary, you will piss off a lot of readers if the characters, settings, and already known lore are done wrong. You must remember that you are representing these stories and the characters with in them, not just creating a new one. Fan is part of fanatical. Never forget that.
Step 3: EDIT and get a Beta-Reader. More input is always a good idea.
Step 4: ASK FOR FLAMES! That's right, ask for them. Flames can give you insight as to how your story is doing, and what your doing wrong. Yes some of them will be stupid, but criticism can easily make you a better writer if its good criticism.
Step 5: Make sure there is character development. Go slow, its not a race, your story is an art, and you can't rush art. Your audience will be here, their not going anywhere. You just focus on writing it and making your story as good as possible.

These are my tips for being a better writer in fan fiction. Use them wisely.
