Obsessive Winchesters are Obsessive. It's practically a genetic trait, or part of the family motto. Yeesh. Maybe they should be considering some more permanent mindf***ery? To rewrite John enough to reduce his damaging impact on the world in the future, at least while Dean isn't around to restrain him. Not dead, just supernatural involuntary therapy of a sort.

If they can set up something as elaborate as the Groundhog Day from Hell, they can make it so Dean isn't actually dying during the time loop, just appearing to - swap him out with a construct at the last second, or something, and make sure it doesn't disappear until "time resets". Heck, he might have done that in the first place, less risk of triggering something or any accidents like a soul's escape happening.

While I can see Dean do that after so many years with only his Dad to be attached to, John is significantly more of an undeserving ass about it than either brother. Obsession is so hazardous, neh?

Interesting. Clearly neither of them had fully thought through or investigated exactly how those precautions were going to work. Definitely going to try to avoid a repeat, if their temporary deaths are so effectively convincing that the other freaks out like that every time.

Please tell me that was at least partially staged? He warned Sam how many times? Yes it would still be traumatic, but... Oh well, Imma blame papa Winchester for being a fantastic douchenozzle and causing the whole thing, and pelt Sammy with marshmellows until he wakes up.

Dean might escape somewhat sane, but John is quite the ass and probably going to suffer quite a lot if he doesn't end up dead for a while.

Loki with a tiny trickster in tow? Adorable, delightfully fun, and completely trashing the entire current apocalypse plot, as I don't think an archangel can posses a trickster that isn't human anymore.

I like the idea that Loki is good with kids and might just have a habit of collecting strays (when he doesn't need to worry about Odin doing something inadvisable to them, which this Loki mostly doesn't).
