Yeah, "comedy" and "tragedy" are the same thing only with differing perspective.

This was very tragic but well-written! We always brush off Doof's tragic backstories, but when you really think about them, they're really sad. I hope Perry gave Doof a hug for us before he left.

I've read this a couple times now. Yet it makes me shudder more than all those books I've read were gory description is put into describing someone losing an arm.

Wow. His tragic backstories do sound sort of ridiculous the way he tells them, but they're obviously much more scarring than he likes to admit. Scarring physically and mentally. The titular pun did not prepare me for the angst in this fic, but that is ok. Any serious Doof fic should be expected to contain angst.

I really like the way your interpretation of Doofenshmirtz's character, even if it is ooc. You hit me in the feels with his self-loathing and the frenemy relationship he and Perry have.

"You want to speak in German, speak all that wonderful hatred you have for yourself to yourself. You know Perry doesn't understand German." I really like how you have him associate German with self-deprecation and the way he sets up rules for how to interact with Perry.

CANON DOUBLE AMPUTEE, hot diggity DANG i had just started planning out a story where perry accidentally simultaneously breaks doof's arm and knocks him out, oh well, this is...awesome, the part about the ocelots and the raw meat feels familiar, i really feel like i remember reading it before, dangit dangit DANGIT, DOOOOOOOF, DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF, GRAH, as far as OOCness...maybe perry was a little too smug and doof's dialogue was a bit off but this was really good for a first.
