Its better, I'm hoping you don't make her dumb and that she does have a mind beyond her normal stuff. Would like to see her being more different from her roots if possible.

Just looking back at the first chapter, I think this is already an improvement.

I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand, its really good. On the other, the use of present tense is highly annoying and subtracts quite a lot of my enjoyment. On the other, other hand, the summary you gave has me hesitant about where and how things will go. I quite enjoyed Naruko's standoffishness, and while I can see how that would make it hard to write, I'm hoping that you don't remove it all to the point of Naruko just being completely led around by Negi. Otherwise this story just becomes like every other story, a retelling of canon with an extra, unneeded character.

Also, if you need a beta, I'd be more than happy to help out.

Hmm...it is certainly a bit less, divorced, I suppose, from reality. Honestly though, the main issue with the original was, besides the fact Naruko was kind of a hanger-on and just ODD when it came to the main story, is that it was becoming a bit of a canon rehash, and all of Naruko's potential for whacky shenanigans Negima style, for funny changes...just didn't come to be, and she just hung around reading yuri manga and doing nothing.

I like this new direction, the present tense feels a bit weird but this one sounds like its a gd change with how she rooms w Chisame? n it sounds like she's chummy w Takamatchi. well, hope she rmbrs who the our fav brat is soon~! I'm sure her mom's kinda famous to some degree.
