Reviews for I'm only human (and I bleed when I fall down)
general zargon chapter 1 . 5/23/2018
This was a really nice story, I enjoyed how you wrote Lenore's thoughts and emotions. :) It was all so amazing and detailed, I loved it. I wish you the best of luck on your writing!
The Local Bat chapter 1 . 2/26/2017
Bloody brilliant. Little cheeky follow up maybe?
Guest chapter 1 . 5/14/2015
Another job well done. You are one spectacular author. Please continue writing about this series!
Chades chapter 1 . 1/22/2015
This was so cute, omg. I just recently sat down to finally watch the second movie (wow, that took me years.) and I think I just needed to read something about them being happy (or at least on the mend) and just..being a family. I will also ignore the existence of the third movie because while I haven't seen it, I know that I do not agree with the plot at all.
ismile83 chapter 1 . 11/21/2014
Wow that was stunning. I can't even tell you how much I enjoyed reading that! PLEASE write more for Taken and this awesome couple!
Rebecca Barclay chapter 1 . 11/11/2014
I really do love the part when Bryan and his Lenny have some kissing moments.
Angel Senka chapter 1 . 9/30/2014
Nice story, I love it.
Zenyatta19 chapter 1 . 8/16/2014
Oh God - where do I start with this review? Okay, first things first - I LOVED THIS! Such descriptive writing, I could envision Lenore seated at the bar trying desperately not to appear desperate. Incredible, tangible detail.
The scene where she knows Bryan just arrived in the bar is just priceless. I could see Bryan towering over the other patrons and his gimlet gaze would settle on Lenore. Loved how everyone flees the area where he parks himself in her space. Perfectly described. That's exactly how Bryan would handle it, too. I laughed out loud when he very gently and patiently explains to her "we can do this one of two way, Lenore" - Oh, God! Just when this story can't get better, it does!
What you've done is perfectly encapsulate their complicated, tumultuous relationship without in any way diminishing these two characters. A lesser writer would have given in to the temptation of a Lenore/Bryan complete-isn't-love-grand reconcilation right there in the doorway. Your restraint is admirable. By your own admission in the Author's Notes - you know this trope and it shows in your writing. Given Bryan and Lenore a too easy path back together would be somehow disrespectful to both of them. By its nature, divorce leaves a deep scar on both sides - no matter how justified each might feel about it.
I love how Bryan's nobility comes through here, too. He could so easily have taken advantage of Lenore in her compromised state, but instead puts on the brakes and tells her "not like this, Lennie" - the voice of reason and restraint. And respect. Bryan clearly respects Lenore. She has to give him points for that, at least. Bryan may be a lot of things but he's a gentleman and he truly does care about Lenore. Maybe more than care, but he's being cautious and tentative with her, too. He has just as much lose in a second chance as she has. Oh God - I can't stand it! I love this so much!

By the way, how do you see the character of Bryan Mills?

Finally, I loved Kim's devotion to her mother. Kim intuitively knew that her mother would feel isolated and alone and comforted her mother. I wish Kim had been written this well in that actual films because they really didn't do her any favors by portraying her alternately as a spoiled brat/quivering mess. She's in much better hands with you at the helm.

All three of these characters have skin in this game. It's all in, or don't initiate. So much risk. Ohhh, I love this story! I second the first reviewer's plea that you please, please, please continue on with this and write a second (third, fourth, fifth) chapter! I'd love to know Lenore's ruminations on what happened between her and Bryan in the doorway last night.

Anyway, thanks for making my day with this latest gem. Excellent work and I look forward to many more!

Oh man, this is a very well done story. You have to write a second chapter.
