I like how this ended. Things aren't better, Prowl's not better, Bluestreak has issues, and Jazz is hovering. Sometimes, that's enough.

Poor Jazz. Could there be anything worse to live with than that brand of guilt?

Oh, ow. right in the feels.

Yes! Jazz knows what Prowl needs to hear, and it is certainly not pretty words of how sorry everyone is that his city was destroyed. To be fair, no one really would know what to really say in that situation...it's too terrible for words. But Jazz has experienced death of his team on a scale which emotionally gives him a taste of what Prowl feels - esp since they have such a close connection to each other through their own friendship. He is the only one brave enough to say the hard words, the true words that Prowl must hear to break free of the weight of his burning city.

And Jazz does one better. He puts his own promise to be there however Prowl needs him into action. The scene of him arriving to find Prowl and Blue up in the middle of the night, and your providing the insight this is a common occurrence, is very sweet. What follows is perfect and very healing for both Blue and Prowl. I love where you end the story, Prowl waking up and thinking about how 'agreeable' it all feels and knowing he wasn't alone. Perfectly in character, nothing rushed, a great build toward something better to come. I don't think you could have left off in a better place.

I love you Jazz, for making logical arguments to your Prime as to why you have to break the rules, and then when he doesn't really listen you disconnect your comm system ) Brilliant way to deal with the whole situation I think! Impulsive logic works for me! And only Jazz would be willing to fly his way into an impossible situation just so his friend could come home to a final resting place of peace. I am so glad he will be doubly rewarded for his efforts. I was on the edge of my chair, hoping against hope right along w Jazz that his vision was true...But offline mechs don't have their color so I am hoping for the best!

Poor Jazz is left being the strong one, trying to hold all of the pieces together and an emotional mask in place that would rival Prowl's on a hard day if anyone knew half of the truth of what was running through his mind. He wants to run out to find his friends. Scratch that, he needs to run out and find Prowl, and he has soul tearing guilt that he has caused his friend's death in that pit of fire. Now it sounds like others are starting to have similar thoughts...And he is trapped on the ship, while others can search and do something, and he is stuck putting on a show. He is a mech of action, and this is the worst place for him. Poor mech, I am amazed he lasted as long as he did!

The beauty of Prowl playing the crystal of the garden brings tears to my eyes. I don't think I have ever seen this in the fanfic before, and it is a very powerful image, esp with what comes next! The softer side of a mech so driven by logic and war, being seen here stroking crystals next to a sparking and helping him even make his own very baby sounds. It makes the contrast to the next bit of sounds much more gut wrenching...some sounds bring peace and beauty, others portend death...And to a city of crystal, they all will still vibrate just the same.

I found the fact Prowl is still trying to process and help others in the midst of his own likely destruction again to be very insightful. I am a huge Prowl fan, and see this inherent in his character. It's nice to see how you tease it out. He's not being OOC - it's still very logical - the creators will follow their child - no need for discussions, just move. I don't think he really believed any of them were going to survive, but as he said in the last line, he had to try.

Sad, but I loved the ending. Bluestreak was adorable. I love Jazz in this.

Wow. I don't even know what to say. That was amazing. So sad but beautiful at the same time. What you wrote is probably the best description/mention/whatever of the Crystal Gardens I've ever read. It was just memorizing. And with my (over) active imagination, it was even better. Easily one of the most beautiful, heart breaking, burst into tears story I've ever read even outside of FanFiction. Just amazing.
