Pointless Heart chapter 1 . 10/29/2014
I am depressed now. Your job is done.
autumn midnights chapter 1 . 8/26/2014
This was a really interesting look at Lily's last moments. I like how you added more details and drew it out a little more than it was shown in canon, the way you combined the book and movie with your own ideas. I really like the conversation between James and Lily at the end, also, and the way that they were watching Harry from the afterlife.

You did a really nice job characterizing Lily, and the way you showed the love she has for her son was absolutely wonderful. SPaG was very good, also - I didn't notice any mistakes in that respect. I like the way you ended it, also, on the hopeful note that Harry will be fine, that he is still loved.
Fire The Canon chapter 1 . 8/25/2014
Ah, I really liked the way you used the scar prompt in QL to write this. It was a very nicely done fic, and didn't seem forced at all, so great job with that. I also, once again, liked your use of your own writing mixed with that from the book. You don't over do it from the book, which is good, but you use it to inspire you. Well done.

I liked the end, too, with James and Lily together. It was very sweet.

C'est magnifique!
Firstly: you used the prompts brilliantly. I couldn't think of a thing for TYL round 2 so well done for that.
Secondly: This was beautifully written. Not gonna lie, it almost made me cry.
I think it's really clever how you made Lily be aware of what she was doing for Harry, I'd always just thought it was a thing that happened, but I like this idea. The incorporation of love throughout the story leading up to that moment when Lily sacrificed herself was very well done as it never seemed out of place, even though it's just one (sort of) unrelated word.
The way you had Lily and James watching what happened after they died was great as well. I'd hate it if Lily just died and didn't know what happened to her Son, and she didn't go back to James.
A very beautiful story. Well done :)
broken-reverie chapter 1 . 8/18/2014
A very impactful one-shot! One of the better ones out there about this scene. I especially like the way you wrote it in Lily's perspective :)

However, I have to say that I was a little bit disappointed by this piece (considering I loved your other pieces) - for me this one didn't flow as well as I expected it to...

Nevertheless, love your writing style :)
Mein Liebling chapter 1 . 8/16/2014
This was very powerful, I really felt Lily's desperation and her love for Harry through this story and how she was strong and brave to think fast on her feet and help Harry. I like your little addons too, in her speech. You didn't make her a sobbing mess that couldn't think clearly and accidentally helped Harry survive. She's really the Lily Evans we all know in love in this and I really enjoyed it.

Great job!

I'm not very good at finding flaws in SPAG or flow, but I doubt I'd find anything anyways if I looked really hard. :D
alwaysmarauders chapter 1 . 8/6/2014
First off, this had me crying. Anything with the death of James or Lily does that to me.
This was amazing though, and I loved every bit of it. Characterization was great, as was the flow of the scene and the way you had everything set up.
The bit at the end made me smile. I love that you had them together again in death. It was a great bit to add and it really made the story all that more powerful.
SPaG was good as well. I didn't catch any major errors.
Great job!
deant33 chapter 1 . 8/6/2014
Nice story. Succinct.
booksdefygravity chapter 1 . 8/5/2014
I love Lily and this definitely showed her well, especially her courage and her love for Harry. However, there were a few errors. Some of the sentences seemed sort of long, and there should be a comma after "Stand aside" in the sentence "Stand aside you silly girl."
I also love the thought of James and Lily watching over Harry as ghosts. That's really cute.
sweaterweather21 chapter 1 . 8/4/2014
Good choice - Lily definitely is a good character to write about when it comes to the most painful moment, even though she did it out of the love for her son.

I had to look up the word "viscera," which is a good thing. It's a random thing to mention haha, but I love when authors use words I don't know; it usually means that the fanfic is a pretty good one :)

The way you wrote all of the scenes with Lily and Harry was wonderful. Even though everybody already knows the inevitable (Lily dies to save her son), the way you added details brought everything to life, and it was very touching. I was sad knowing what was going to happen, but it was nice to read about how much Lily loved her son.

I liked the end as well. James and Lily's conversation is very poignant (actually, this whole story is) because it shows them as a family in such a heartbreaking way. The only minor suggestion that I have is about the last sentence. This whole story is about Lily's sacrifice, and for me, stating that Harry would be okay doesn't really fit the mood. Lily's most painful moment of her life was sacrificing herself to save her son (and subsequently leaving him an orphan), so in order to maintain that tone, I might've phrased it differently.

But that definitely doesn't take away from what an excellent job you've done with this piece. There are many, many fics covering a similar topic, but I'd say yours is one of the best. It's a difficult scene to write about, but this story really made me feel for all the characters involved. Bittersweet, yet beautiful! Great work :)
DobbyRocksSocks chapter 1 . 8/3/2014
This is a very emotionally charged story, and I think you managed it very well without overdoing it, so I commend you for that. I can't find fault with this at all, and apart from I loved it, there isn't much else to say. It's a brilliant piece of writing.
jennybenny2845 chapter 1 . 8/3/2014
Excellent portrayal of Lily's strength and sacrifice. It never ceases to amaze me. Best of all, she was able to remain calm and remind Harry of his parents love for him while in the presence of Voldemort. Lily and James' reflection on what happened was very heartbreaking and touching. I love how James says that they will always be a family even if they can't be physically together. And, as we know, Harry's parents' love saved him in several situations and contributed to his defeat of Voldemort.

Just one tiny thing - "but every life has it's price". It should be its not it's. Other than that, great job on this powerful, well written piece.
LiteratureSoccerEnthusiast chapter 1 . 7/31/2014
Good depiction of Lily's and James' last Kent's and their love for Harry. Thank you for sharing and I cannot wait to see more if your writing.
