I really like this story. I've only read one other fic where they read the seventh book and then went back in time to change things, and I can't think of the title nor the author. Maybe you'll know? I hope you write more. Thank you for sharing.

this is wonderful! I love reading the books stories and redo stories, so this makes me very happy. I love that the Longbottoms came back, and that they're already there with Harry. Im really looking forward to seeing how they deal with the days leading up to school, the mail (though wouldn't it be easier if Harry just did an interview in the prophet, explaining that he didn't know about the world, was very sorry, and would get back to them as soon as he could?) and dealing with Sirius. also, to see if they're sorted into different houses this time. if harry goes to slytherin, he plus Draco will probably be able to save a bunch of kids from the war (if it ever gets that far)

Great story so far, can’t wait for more! Gonna be a real roller coaster after this but looking forward to it. Neville coming into his confident self five years early. Alice being a mother to Harry with help from Lily’s portrait. Frank and Jame’s portrait teaching him about the magical world and being Head of House. Dumbles trying to take Harry back to the Dursley’s only for Augusta to smack him down. I think the Tonks family would be a good addition too. Andi could be Harry’s personal healer while Nym builds up to big sister for him and Neville after first year. Don’t be afraid to stick close to canon also. Just change enough so that Harry is no longer the Boy-Who-Got-Played.

I was so happy when I saw the alert for this pop up and then, of course, I didn't get to actually read it for a couple of weeks! But it was definitely worth the wait.

First, congratulations on writing an original piece of fiction with your dad! That's awesome - I hope it's going well. And second, I'm so glad (and flattered!) that my review inspired a new chapter! Thank you!

There's a lot I love about this chapter - like the fact that, so far, their plan is surviving first contact. If I remember right, it was Ron that pointed out most plans don't but keeping it simple is definitely working for them here. Dumbledore being human rather than manipulative about the mail is such a nice change of pace too. (Not that I don't enjoy a good manipulative Dumbledore. But seeing him just simply making mistakes and admitting them is nice too.) Harry having to stop himself from mouthing everyone's words with them was such an amusing picture and I really loved the detail of James telling him the trick to being able to floo, not to mention that moment where Harry wishes James could see it. Someone hug the kid!

Sassy Neville! I started laughing at his response to Augusta. Get ready, Gran, his snark is about to increase I'd say. Their reunion with Frank and Alice had me grinning, not to mention that Harry was already there too. I'm looking forward to what happens next. Going through the mail is definitely a good plan - Molly was right about how damaging Harry never replying to anyone probably was. Not to mention that this could be another way to bring Remus in now too since Harry'd be replying to him as well.

Frank and Alice are going to stir so many things up with the fact that they know exactly what questions to ask and they're in a good position to start demanding answers. (Well, of course, Harry can ask as well but I have a feeling that people are going to respond better to adults questioning things first.) Thanks again for this chapter and good luck with your writing, original and fan fiction! I hope we'll get to see what happens next soon (that sounds kind of horrible now that I think about it since you mentioned working on fan fiction was your way of helping your writer's block, sorry)!

Oh, I was happy to see an update to this story; had nearly given up hope that you'll continue this! Thank you! Now I only hope the next one is going to come a bit faster.

It's still sad that Harry's parents couldn't be brought to that time, but I am glad he at least got a chance to meet them and get to know the real persons, not just Snape's memories.

Nice to see the question of fan mail brought up. I always wondered; with how famous Harry was, and how the public reacted in GoF, it was only logical that there had to have been a lot of mail, so why was it never received? Sure, keeping little Harry safe from harmful content would be a problem, but that could have been dealt with, and after he went to Hogwarts, he should have been told. So, yes, that one is on Dumbledore. He really made more mistakes than he can ever make up for.

These wizards are really the worst gossips. Glad Frank and Alice seem to keep their wits about them and acted to protect Harry. Though I wonder if they really would be able to sit up and move that easily after being bedridden for so long, the reaction of the healers was fun.

*grin* Good for Neville for standing up to his Gran. She'll be surprised how he has changed. When she has recovered from the shock, that is.
