When the crack is too good.

I was skeptical when I saw the pairing, but when I started reading I couldn't turn away. The way you wrote all of the characters was so defined in your style, but so in line with the characters that it didn't feel like a fanfic at all. Plus you didn't over extend the story. Which kept the readers attention, while at the same time creating a huge impact on the readers.
I think (in my opinion) your work is fantastic, and there are very minimal flaws in this writing overall. Though, I would have liked to see a little bit more of an impact on how Gintoki felt about the situation. For example, overhearing Hinowa and Tsukyuo, or finding out about the secret by Takasugi. Even better would be Gintoki killing Takasugi, but that could be another story as well.
I think these are very small details in the story, and that your writing is very enjoyable. Please continue writing your wonderful

That was so dark and twisted and tragic - I loved it. Wonderful writing. This is a pair I never thought of (I usually ship Gintoki/Tsukuyo, although I'm not afraid to go for the weird/unpopular ones - Hijikata/Tae is the one ship I'll go down with, lol), and you made it so believable. Indeed, anything with Takasugi, I cannot see it lasting - merely passing ships in the night (oh, unintentional pun) - but the possibilities are endless. This fic is exactly the kind I was looking for and the only kind I can imagine with Takasugi. Also, I love the how you wrote him; he's not an easy character for people to write without making readers tear their hair out over what they perceive as OOC-ness, but you did extremely well.

Again, great work! I'm going to have to read more of your work. :)

Hello, I'm a new fan of yours! I've been adding your works to my favorites (especially your beautiful GinTsu fics) for a while now but I just got the courage to leave a review.

Great writing can do wonders. I've never even thought of shipping these two together but now I'm completely on board because of this fic. I really love and admire your writing style. I love how you don't write long paragraphs of inner turmoil but instead make the thoughts concise then backing them up with in-character dialogues and actions that means a lot more than what's written. If I may compare, your writing style is like a great teacher that doesn't spoon feed every single lesson to the students but instead guides them well enough to learn the lesson on their own. I believe that your writing suits Gintama very well since the series also relies on emotional dialogues and actions rather than putting all inner struggles into words.

Back to the fic, I can't believe I, a (hardcore) GinTsu shipper, was disheartened over the GinTsu ending. Don't take it the wrong way! The dynamics between Takasugi and Tsukuyo in your fic was just truly captivating (especially the 'forbidden love' aspect of it) that I rooted for them. But I know that the ending was meant to be. Happy with a tinge of bittersweetness. Though I would've liked more glimpses of TakaTsuki(?)'s small conversations because (like hair) 7:3 is the Golden Ratio and this fic was like... 90% Dark, 10% Paradise. But don't mind, that's just me being a shipper! This fic is wonderful as it is.

I haven't read all your stories but I definitely will as soon as I've caught up with Gintama. Looking forward to more fics from you! (And you can't stop me from praying that you'll get another whim to write Shinsuke/Tsukuyo)

Holy fucking shit! This was one of the best short stories that I've EVER read.

I loved the concept and the message behind it. And damn... You really got a great insight in the characters, even in Takasugi... I mean, he's one of the most complicated men (or characters) that I've stumbled across so far... And with everything that is revealed about him, I'm totally surprised. So yeah, I absolutely loved your version of him. You wrote him so believable and gave his dark personality even more depth. It's amazing!

And Tsukuyo. Damn, I really felt her pain and the betrayal. But I'm kind of into this stuff, so I'm happy with the bittersweet outcome of the story. I really liked that you focused on her more feminine side and curiosity about sex and love. She really has a talent for her lovers :'D And although the whole story was short, I feel that you really covered a lot of aspects. Especially her relationships with the people close to her.

Of course I absolutely loved the ending! First of all, even I had to laugh at the restaurant scene with the Yorozuya and Otose & Co. I don't know you just feel the love and family bonds between those meatheads, and I adore their relationship. Seriously.

The first time you mentioned Gintoki and Hijikata, I was wondering whether Gin would take over or not, and I'm honestly so happy that he did. The end was just so, SO cute. And I find it so romantic that she ended up with her first (great) love. They deserve to be happy. Although I really can see the chemistry between Takasugi and the Courtesan of Death, because of the same reasons I can totally see her ending up with Gintoki. :D

So yes, I absolutely loved this story. Great job, I can't wait to discover more :D

I really love your writing you really portrayed takasugi and tsukky's character pretty well. Oh I also love this the angsty ending, becuase it fitted perfectly the ending is just perfect. I also love your writing in general.
