I’m sure life has kept you busy, but I hope you’ll return to this one day. I really like this genre of story where it follows a non ninja in this setting. Even though most fall into the trap of just making him a good at fighting if not better than the kunoichi you have kept him a noncombatant. This is definitely my favorite story of its kind and I still reread it from time to time. So please come back some day!
