Lestrade is a rough and tumble kind of a man. He's also soft on S.H., J.W., Mrs. H. and Molly. But my favorite (fics) show him quite drawn to one Mycroft Holmes.

Mycroft is not a 'rough and tumble sort', but someone who keeps his feelings buried down deep inside him. The last 4 lines you wrote showed us M.H.'s heart and soul! "Heavenly" indeed!

ehheh, high mycroft was amusing :D
the thickening plot worked very well also to give the humoruous edge of having mycroft inhibitions lowered, and make him be all cudly and unthinking and telling greg how he really feels about him.
so it was very clever twist to the story, on many levels.
and nice to see that Sherlock and John can be in the same Place and not kill each others, but work together and help greg help mycroft.
