Guest chapter 1 . 7/11/2019
The funny thing is Alex Jones literally did this to himself. It's a shame it didn't affect his popularity.

Amanthya chapter 1 . 4/30/2014
Well, that makes a lot of sense. Otherwise, why would you pick on the guys and gals who are saving the world, and who could beat you up? Because they would consider murder of you wrong, and the villains hit harder.

You are on to something, and while I have not read your story I will write some on the subject. I will use the American Democratic and Republican parties as examples here. The Democratic party usually does not have a firm party structure and is actually composed of many different groups who cannot come together to police themselves much less further their party agenda within the media. The Republican party however is another animal altogether they live on the political spin, rumor mongering, and half truths if not outright lies, and as some reporters have mentioned in the past when a republican president is in office they control the press passes issued to virtually all goverment events and will freeze out reporters essentially ending their careers. They unlike the democrats take names and get even with those that they do not like, so by process of elimination democrats end up being the targets of the media. Also since most American media outlets are usually owned by wealthy republicans or pro leaning corporations (Fox TV is the best example of this) these networks are used to further party agendas. As a result the media tends to attack only those who will not, or cannot defend themselves. To make matters worse the public loves almost nothing more than to set hero figures on to pedestals, and the only thing they like more, is to knock people off of their pedestals.
Kimberly T chapter 1 . 4/27/2014
I'm gonna have to believe that this actually happened at some point early in the current Marvel chronology. And that something similar happened in the DC-verse as well; it would explain a lot about the rise of Lex Luthor to the presidency, among other things.
