Truly, I wasn't very surprised that the old fogies didn't do very much to Fumblemort. It'd highly likely he knows where all their skeletons are buried. But the fun'll really start when muggle-borns and half-bloods fail to arrive at the school and a check of the Hogwarts accounts shows refunds paid to those families. That's gonna cause a serious panic amongst the old fogies of the Wizengamott. They depend on those two groups to pay the bulk of the costs of the school for the purebloods. With those two groups not attending and not shopping in the Ally, that's a major hit their economy will take. And if Harry does the same thing every year for the next twenty, it's likely there won't be a Hogwarts after at best ten. There just aren't enough purebloods in the country to pay for all the staff and upkeep of the castle itself. So either the Ministry or the Wizengamott would fire Fumblemort long before that in hopes that Potter would stop and the muggle-borns and half-bloods will return. Of course, they'd also have to make everyone pay the same amount of tuition also.
I hope you can tie your muse down long enough to finish this someday. I was truly enjoying it.

Some places have a charge of enabling child abuse. Which is:

In addition, in my state, child abuse includes failure to protect the child. In other worlds, if you witness it you are responsible for stopping it as best you are able.
The penalty for child abuse or enabling child abuse is the same. Up to a year in the county jail or up to a lifetime in the state penitentiary, possibly with a fine of $500-$5000.
Child abuse is a serious accusation.

Considering you're using Smallville that makes Donna a better choice than some of the other possible options.

As Diana isn't presented as that much older in the show. Ought to decrease the age gap from around 6 to 2-3 max between them.

There's also no issues with slower aging rates as between Kryptonians and mundane humans. As Amazons are pretty much ageless. Hippolyta, daughter of Ares BTW, was around during the Age of the Gods, when Hercules was performing his 12 Labours.

Powergirl aka Karen Starr aka Kara Zor-L would still count as s first cousin, even if she's from another reality.

The DCAU version of Supergirl could've been an option as she's not a member of the House of El, but the House of Ze.

(Although, the chaps in charge of the DCAU thoroughly violated Kryptonian naming conventions. As female Kryptonians from "Noble" houses are supposed to have their father's name in their full name. Kara Zor-El, Lara Lor-Van, Kal's mother and Allura In-Ze, Kara Zor-El's mother, would be examples. So Kara In-Ze should've been from the House of Ze, with her father's name being In.)

Anyway, as this is Smallville we're dealing with Kara Zor-El (and she's a first cousin again), unless you planned on retrieving the other Kara, as happened in the DCAU, and have her act under the Powergirl name.

So that there are two Kara's running around. Or rather than a Kara, you could have one of her sisters be the survivor Kalya , Kori (not recommended, more below) and Kari.

Another potential match could've been Koriand'r, human name Kory Anders aka Starfire.

Bit obvious in her alien heritage true. But a Kryptonian-Tamaranean hybrid should prove to be far stronger than their parents. As Tamaraneans absorb any type of sunlight, not just yellow.

Should also prevent overcharging by blue sunlight (pulsar originated).

And while they do have a chromium allergy, the results are akin to the flu, so not nearly as debilitating as Kryptonite..

There's also the "stranger in a strange land" aspect, that he'd be able to understand better as a Kryptonian raised on Earth.

Laurel Gand aka Andromeda, s Daxamite could've been another option, although she was rather xenophobic initially

And while I considered Caitlin Fairchild aka Fairchild from Gen13, she'd still have the aging problem. Unless you were thinking of having a witch a la Hermione undergoing it, though she's not a green-eyed redhead. ;-P

Same kinda applies to Mary Batson aka Mary Marvel.

M'gann M"Orzz aka Megan Morse aka Miss Martian could've been another option, but I'm not sure about Martians and Kryptonians being able to interbreed. (Kryptonians and Tamaraneans have both interbred with humans, so good chance that they can breed with each other as well.)

Plus no synergy in their abilities. And adds a possible fire weakness.

And I know that "ScifiFan33" is doing similar things with his " Death Comes to Smallville" series, with obliviations if they react badly like Pete did.

- Hide and Seek
' WhiteElfElder" and " power214063" make decent points about finding Kara early.

- Weakening
One way to explain why Harry isn't as strong as Kal or Kara is his magic.

A physical body can only hold a certain amount of energy without risking harm (see blue sunlight, which can shorten the lifespan).

Harry also has his magical core and that limits the amount of sunlight he could absorb.

To use fictitious numbers to clarify.

If a body can hold 100 units of energy, than Harry has to subtract from that number because of his core. Let's say it's 40 units, with the average magic user at 20.

That would mean that he can only absorb 60 units of sunlight, unlike Kal or Kara, who can take in 100.

Problem explained away as to why he's physically weaker than Kal.

By contrast, he has Occlumancy to help shield his mind from mental attacks. Clark has zilch.

Clark is as susceptible to magic as the average human, whereas Harry IS a magic user himself, so he does have some defenses.

So just because he's physically weaker, nor as quick as Kal, he makes up for that by being less vulnerable over all.

Seems like a fair trade to me
