Really nice paced chapter. I like the set up of how one section was present and then the next would be from the past.
I was definitely feeling something when Light took upon some of Hope's tortured feelings of guilt and despair. It was such a Light thing to do.
One thing I will say was that I got sort of irritated at Serah's reaction and acceptance of Hope's drastic personality change. I know she's a positive person and she's trying to look at the brighter picture of Hope's situation, but she really minimized how big of a deal it really is. To Hope this is like the point of no return- he's no longer pure. I think the word to use would be 'hypocrite'. How is he suppose to preach what he lives by when he didn't follow through with it either? His principles were the only thing truly tying him to his extraterrestrial title of 'Angel' (after Bhunivelze ripped his wings)- and now he's tainted it. That's how I think he sees things.
I just felt as if Serah indirectly spat on his morals and who he was as a whole before the whole Dead Dunes incident. I'm not saying she's horrible- because I feel as if she's genuinely happy Hope's become a bit more human (?)- though it feels as if she's glad for all the wrong reasons. Anyway, that's just how I felt on that.

Thank you for the update! I had to wait for a good time to read the update so that I can have all the focus I need, and it's worth it. I know you said it's odd in aspect of structure, but nah I've seen more than a few fics using this kind of structure. The cuts were nicely placed with just enough clues and all. Maybe too many clues because I wasn't very surprised about Light calming Hope down, haha.

Talking about calming him down, that was intense. Argh I can't even imagine how hard it is to write a heart-wrenching moment. I almost predicted Light to actually cry after receiving Hope's negative energy, but maybe I underestimated her. She's such a strong woman. And I know I'm not the only one who's delighted on their new, deeper bond xD

By the way, it's only now I realized that writing Hope with apathy must have been a challenge. His original character is so determined and expressive, after all. In your story, there are times he seemed off (which is understandable, given his background here), but mostly he's still Hope. Good job on pinning his character like that!

Also, I would like to point out that perhaps there are multiple grammar/writing technique errors. I know you're not native English speaker, but maybe you need to proofread this chapter once again, or ask assistance from someone to beta-read.

With Hope finally agreeing to go, I'm guessing next chapter will be a new arc of Wildlands huh. I can't wait to see whatever mystery they are going to unravel tjere. Until then, good luck.
