I can't actually explain how much happy I feel to read this... Everything you wrote here are just same as my thoughts that I want to show to Gosho Ayoma... Only thing I can say about ShinRan is that their love is what is called crush or puppy love, sometimes I fell like Ran is obsessed with Shinichi... and literally Ran screaming Shinichi in every damn episode and crying everytime she thinks of Shinichi has become too annoying, I feel Ran is nothing more than a fangirl... Everytime Shinichi goes on a date with Ran he has to accommodate with her wishes, but she would just get annoyed if talks a bit about his cases and we just saw that in the very first episode of DC...

On the other hand the relationship between Shinshi goes beyond love... I don't think Shinichi trusts Ran as much as he trusts Shiho, he believes she can protect herself along with others... Shiho is no damsel in distress... Whereas Ran who knows karate always ends up getting hurt and others have to rescue her...The bond between Shinshi is more mature, they can understand each other without words, that is something that Ran can never accomplish because she doesn't know Shinichi at all... She is only in love with the idea of him...And understanding is something every couple wants to find in their soulmates, so definitely Shinshi are SOULMATES...

How did she skip a grade in the Japanese school system? You even quoted the DC movie that brought up that point (and it hasn't really changed as far as I know. The closest I could find was a high school that offered college courses for its senior science/math students, that would give credit for both, and I believe that school stopped doing that a decade ago).

I really like this chapter.
I think you have portrayed the behavior of all the characters very well. You really have nailed their personalities. Sonoko is a great friend, always loyal, defending Ran, but she is also tremendously impulsive, and that makes her make many mistakes. Ran's behavior has also been very credible, just standing there stoic or crying. Shiho feeling guilty and Shininchi making jokes even in this moments.
Soooo I really enjoyed reading this. Thank you for this awesome story.
