Interesting to watch the relationship between Athelstan and Ragnar develop into something more, but then watching as it seemed to go awry.

What a bastard Cnut is, making them think that Athelstan betrayed them (just like King Horik in season 2). When Aethelwulf handed him over to those soldiers and told them to do whatever they want with him, my heart leapt into my throat and I thought back to what happened to him when he was owned by Vermund before Ragnar found him; maybe fire is better?
I almost had a heart attack when you started to burn Athelstan, cry even, and then felt so relieved that you decided to save him Ragnar to the recue! (just as it should be) But then it's Rollo(?) colour me surprised! (where the hell is Rangar?!"

Really glad that Athelstan decided to stay with Ragnar.

Floki trying to steal away Brother Sheldon really made me laugh! Would have been fun to see what he would do with a priest of his own :)

I really liked how you developed the closeness in their relationship between Athelstan and Rollo, it makes a great ending to this fic (as much as I wish it could have gone on forever!)

Interesting to read from Athelstan's point of view, him being a slave long before he even reaches Ragnar. I enjoyed the two of them getting together and watching Athelstan struggle with himself, and suddenly they're not so close anymore. His closeness to Rollo and even Floki; because in the show they really seem to hate on him. His emotional struggles. All of it, it makes for some awesome drama.

You did these characters well and I liked how you slipped in things from the 1st season but made them all your own. This was lengthy, which I enjoyed. Great writing! I really mean it, this fic was awesome! :) Hope you keep it up.

Such a beautiful story ... It's one of my all-time favorits!
You manage to show the characters' developments very convincingly; giving them enough time to learn and change. It feels very realistic. I also adore the end! Not the typical ending you'd expect from most fanfiction writers, yet giving me a warm feeling in my belly. (Would love to read more of them, though. :)

This fic is amazing. I could barley stop reading it once I started. I must say this is probably one of the best Vikings fics I've read. The ending gave me so many feels it's unreal; I was sad to find that that was the end of the fic. I really wish there was more. Keep up the excellent work _ Ja.
