I love your Holmes/Watson stories, you capture their characters really well and that is what's most important to me when reading fanfiction. Also that the main subject of your stories is their friendship is amazing, I love it! 3

I read somewhere that ACD suffered a heart attack while in his garden. He was holding a flower in his hand and told his wife, "You were wonderful.", then died. Always thought that's nice way to go. Idk, this chapter made me think of that.

Wow. Quite a surprise. Fits with the Cannon events like a jigsaw puzzle. It cute to see the reason for Holmes to move to a cottage is purely out of concern for Watson's conditions. Nice! :)

Rat, what a most marvelously written chapter!

Although the topic was rather sad, what with Watson's own prognosis, it really felt how the two of them would naturally react under these circumstances, showing their deep concern and care for each other.

Holmes' deductions were fascinating to follow, how, without much to go on in the beginning, he finally pieced together the whole thing - heart-breaking farewell letter included - despite John's obvious and little surprising reluctance at telling his dear friend.

Sherlock's conclusion that he "will only accept later" for Watson's inevitable demise ony day was classy Holmes. Bravo!

You have those characters down pat! I love the way you write them to no end, Rat.
