I have to question why these "Mavericks" haven't made contact with Garm Bel Iblis. seems like they'd get along rather well. he's a former senator, friend of Padme Amidala's, and leader of the Corellian Resistance. also hates Mon Mothma, which is why he leads a separate faction until Leia convinces Garm and Mon Mothma to join forces late in the war against the empire.

also, i was honestly expecting Ventress, not Mariss Brood. not sure why, other than the red lightsaber, anyway.

i've also noticed that all of the characters you've mentioned have largely come from the movies, the cartoon, or the games. have you read any of the books? if not, i'd recommend the Thrawn series by Timothy Zahn, or the Republic Comanndo series by Karen Traviss, which greatly expands on Mandalorian culture.

while i agree that non-force users can be as badass as jedi, they have to work harder for it. i'd say that the majority of those who'd qualify for that distinction would be the elites among the Mandalorians (when they were still around in numbers) and Echani.

also curious as to if you're going to include EU characters in this story or not. Thrawn and Mara Jade spring to mind. and while Mon Mothma might not have been evil, she was kind of a bitch.

my only comment would be, why the hell is a moff's grandson a stormtrooper? if he wanted to rise up through the military, why not a naval career? it would definitely be safer, so long as he didn't wind up serving under Vader, anyway.

also, people dislike Ashoka? since when? she's the best thing to come out of the clone wars cartoon, a damn good show, i might add.

Why does this story play out as an overly dramatic soap opera instead of a book? It's still pretty good, but it throws me off sometimes.

Hmm, I liked that. I mean, I think it'd have been pretty good to have him maybe losing an arm or something, but an eye works just as well, and gives you an excuse for enhancing him without having to have him constantly wearing his helmet, since a prosthetic eye would be perfect to put a full analysis/magnification suite in, meaning he could glance over a document and have all prudent information presented to him and saved without him having to remember it or take photos.

I feel as though I should mention that R2 wouldn't have recognized Ahsoka as his and C3P0 had their memories wiped just after Luke and Leia were born.

So, excellent writing overall. The action scenes were clean and easy to follow, the characterization is good and the grammar and spelling are actually correct. I will say that I think the team got together perhaps a bit too easily. They seem to already trust each other without any hesitation at all, which seems to have come on too quickly. Again, though, the writing is overall excellent and I will definitely continue reading.
