I'm so glad that you could give us a new chapter this early! I really just adore this story. Whenever I try to look for Hakuouki stories, I can never really find on that interests me, and I'm so happy that I found this story. Thank you for the amazing story, and keep up the awesome work!

Well since you asked me to critique, here I am. Hitomi, has a rather interesting and unique background and she does have the potential to grow into an excellent character. However, despite the interesting background, I have seen too many characters like Hitomi. People who often want a strong female lead character have a tendency to make the character go through a horrendous childhood, therefore making them seem emotionally sealed off until the armor is cracked by a single person, the love interest. This trend isn't something that's bad, but something that's a bit clique. Cliques work, but they usually need something a bit more to give that extra twist that will make the story more unique. What I would like to see in the Hitomi's future is character growth, to learn that it's okay to be weak sometimes. Hitomi has a lot of potential and I would like to see her bloom more in the future. If you ever need someone to bounce ideas off of, you can run them by me for another opinion, although I don't know how fast I can answer you if you decide to take me up on my offer.

Newsflash! I'm not dead! And I haven't stopped writing, either. But with being in school, and all, I don't exactly have my laptop to write on. So I can't continue a chapter I don't have access to. Therefore, when I don't have homework or it's already finished, I handwrite future scenes in a binder. I have multiple chapters written in there (including Ikedaya!) and only a small part I need to write before I just type out my handwritten chapters. So give me a few days, then prepare to be flooded. One thing that kinda bugs me a bit is just that you seem like you're prolonging the story by explaining too much about her past? It's not a bad idea but you might want to try explaining her past little by little, instead of throwing it all as one arc of the story. :)

That was awesome! Though I can't help but feel that you are dragging this out a little too long. You should start the main story, it is not good to drag out the introduction for so many chapters before you start to lose the readers attention. Prehaps you should make it so Saitou is assigned to watch over her since she knows so much and could be dangerous because of not only how much information she has but because she single handedly took down three men.

I really like this story, it has everything I like when choosing to read a fanfiction. I love how this story has drama, action, humor, maybe possible romance and just over all suspense. I just finished reading your latest chapter and I find that I extremely eager to read more lol

I love when I read a fanfiction that is able to captivate me and make me want to know what's going to happen next. I really want to learn more about Hitomi! she's such an interesting character and she seem to have had a sad upbringing seeing as she was born due to her mother being rapped.

I really want to see how Hitomi will get along with the rest of the Shinsengumi, I feel like they wont trust her right away and that she will have to prove herself to them in order to get them all to trust her. I hope that she will become close to all the members of the shinsengumi like how Chizuru did in the anime. I think it would be great if she could get to know them so well that they become family to her to the point where she willing puts there lives before her own.

I hope that all the members of the shinsengumi will start to care for Hitomi and see her as a friend and comrade. I would love it if they could develop concern for her well being where they want to protect and keep her safe from harm whether she be an oni or human.

I want to thank you for taking the time and effort to create this amazing story, I truly can't express how much I appreciate the hard work you put into your writing to make this story as exciting and dramatic and just over all a good read. I really cant wait till your next update. So thank you for everything you've done so far to make this story all that it is and I cant wait for the next chapters to come lol :)

Lastly this is just my own selfish wish, but is there anyway in this story that you can prevent Okita from getting sick with tuberculosis? I love Okita to much to see him die of that illness! So I was hoping that maybe Hitomi would be able to save him or have a cure to the illness so that he doesn't have to die. I love the anime series and the first movie the only thing I hated was having to see all the characters die that's why if you can save any of them from such sad fates I would be forever grateful! :)
