The only interracial romances that Tolkien ever mentioned explicitly were those which involved Men and Elves - and he also implied that an Orc could produce offspring with a Man (even though these relationships would have been anything but romantic). However, despite the fact that Tolkien chose for whatever reason not to enlighten us on the possibility of romantic/sexual involvement between Dwarves and members of other races - even though he did say that there are fewer female Dwarves than male Dwarves and some of the females choose not to marry! - I find this story completely believable and charming to boot. I love the way in which the relationship between Fili and Sigrid becomes closer by degrees (which is natural, considering that they agree to the marriage for the sake of politics) and the fact that Fili is smitten with Sigrid but doesn't want to scare her. The scene between Kili and Sigrid in which he teaches her about the meaning of her braids is lovely - and the seduction scene is scorching HAWT! Best of all, you kept your language true to that of the universe you've chosen and didn't deviate from it into modern language (as so many fanfiction writers sadly do to their detriment). I'm very impressed...and quite envious of Sigrid, frankly!

I really loved your story. Bard's children are really fascinating characters and you todo them in a great direction. I love how you wrote, Sigrid, Fili, Kili, and Tilda. Even the glances of Thorin and bard were true to their characters. Hope you keep on writing in this verse. I'll be keeping a lookout.
