LOVE! I know you said this was platonic lifemate shipping but my romantic shipper heart is swooning anyway! I'd like to believe there's hope for a future where Mary can rule Scotland without a King, somehow. Or, if need be, I'm gonna picture a King Arthur/Sir Lancelot type situation for her - with Bash as the forbidden love, of course. Although I prefer happy endings to tragic love stories, but, yes, that's how desperate I am for Mash to happen! Your Bash is just excellent. I could see and hear him saying all of that! Terrific dialogue, and Mary's inner thoughts too. Wow, I love this so much. More please!

Very moving... great blend of angst and Bash's humor...you did a great job capturing both his serious devotion and ability to lighten Mary's mood. :) Bash definitely deserves to be knighted! I've got to say I choked up at the "I do." and I intend to read it as foreshadowing a different kind of lifelong pledge. ;) I really hope you write more Mash stories!
