After leaving the world of Weld behind them, Rye's friends and family continue their lives in the outside world.

Despite not thinking of himself as a hero, Sholto's desire to solve Weld's problems and do what needs to be done leads him to volunteer for the Warden's quest.

Sonia realised that the flickering flame of hope inside of her still had not extinguished completely. Unlike the rest of the prisoners, part of her was still holding onto some sort of hope.
