I ask that all those wishing to render my services have a basic grasp of grammar and syntax, but more than that, a decent grasp of characterization. Certainly allowances must be made for any fan-related work in this area, but I find it very difficult to maintain interest in a story which is mostly out of character [OOC]. However, all stories must and will be considered on an individual basis.

I excel at grammar and syntax; I am especially good at editing a work for repetitive or inneffective wording or description. I can help find ways to make dialouge and details flow more easily.

I am fairly neurotic as far as grammar and overall style elements are concerned, and may attempt to change more than the writer sees fit [read: slightly critical control freak]. But I'm trying to tone it down. Also, because I'm such a perfectionist, it may take a few days for me to get back to the writer.

I love general fiction and am always willing to beta such. Yaoi/ Shounen-ai are also favorites, though truly, it depends on the pairing and how the author handles it. Alternate Universe and Het fiction are toss-ups.

For the love of all I find holy, do not send me a crossover or "Mary Sue"-style story. I have nothing against original characters, but the writer had better make a damn good case for them before sending such a story to me. The way I see it, fanfiction, being borrowed from others, must pay respect to the characters and scenarios which the creators developed before bringing in any original concepts. If your character enhances those in place, then by all means send it my way, but if fanfiction is merely a medium for glorifying your character, I do not feel you are paying sugnificant respect to the original work.
