I have been beta reading works ( both fiction and nonfiction ) for my friends off fanfiction.net for over two years now, mainly assisting them with spelling and grammar, as well as the development and portrayal of characters, which can prove just as important as wording, because it is the characters that tell the story. My betareading style is often blunt and to the point---I say what's good and what's not, no beating around the bush or blowing sunshine up your skirt. But I also give reasoning to my opinions, and if something needs work, I tell you what you can or need to do in order to make it better. I'm almost always available to provide betareading services, and am extremely eager to help anyone who needs me to make their literary works more enjoyable for everyone. My only expectation is that you at least take what I say into account, and try to apply it to your own work.I'm not saying that you HAVE to use my advice, by any means: beta readers are only a source of referal, not an instant improve-all tool. It takes the writer to make something great. But if you ask for my services as a beta reader, please do not take my advice and opinions as flaming, or any kind of personal attack. My sole reason for being a beta is to try and help you.

My strengths are finding errors in spelling and grammar, suggesting more fluid ways of writing and description for certain scenes, and taking measures to ensure that a character is IC ( in character ) to their original canon self. Overall, I can provide the most assistance with making sure a story is enjoyable for the readers to experience, and above all, believable.

I admit that there are a great many fandoms that I am not familiar with, and because of this, for certain stories the advice I can offer on characters and whether they are IC might be limited . Also, it is easy for a beta to misinterpret what goal the author is aiming for in their writing---what their vision is. If this happens, TELL me. Help me get a better idea of what you're reaching for, and that way it will be easier for me to help you get there.

Naturally it's easier for me to help you with characterization if I'm familiar with the characters, but other than that, I'm not picky. I'll help anyone with whatever they need me to, and if there's anything ( or anyone ) in the story that I'm unclear on, maybe you as the author can help me out and explain to me what you're aiming for. :)

I'm willing to betaread anything that anyone needs my help with. I'm not squeamish about stories that may be graphic, or deal with " abnormal" sexual orientation. If you need my help and want it, you'll have it---pickiness is not something you need to worry about with me. My personal opinion of a story's subject is not the important thing here: it's helping the author make it a piece of literary work that they can be proud of.
