I'm actually new to the field of beta reading. Still, I have a firm grasp on the rules of english grammar and a fair knowledge of how to make dialog sound natural. br /br / I don't have much in the way of restrictions to what I'll accept, just as long as the story captures my / br / Also, be aware that I cannot abide profanity. If I happen to come across vulgar words in your story, I might not be able to restrain myself from removing them. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
A decent understanding of punctuation and grammar. Also, a decent understanding of paragraph structure. I also posses a knowledge of words that sound the same (e.g. 'there', 'their' and 'they're') and the appropriate instance to use each one. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Sometimes, when a fic is really wordy, I tend to skim over parts of it. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
The only thing that readily springs to mind is if one fic featured a pairing that I approved of. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
While I can appreciate romance as a side story, I'd rather it not be the predominant feature of the fic. The same goes for any horrific or macabre elements. |
