For my betareading, I will fix spelling/grammar issues but for content-based criticisms, I am more likely to offer rewording suggestions or ask questions to guide you to better writing. I find that this is the best way to strengthen content without interfering with a writer's developing /br /

I do ask that beta submissions be run through a spellcheck engine. Having grammar pre-proofread is also a plus.

I am very good, OCD almost, at finding spelling and grammar issues. I have a strong understanding of the structure of English grammar and how to work sentences and paragraphs to relay exactly what you /br /

I am also passionate about how an author guides a reader through a story. I am quick to catch out-of-place shifts in tone and plot holes. I'm also very good at natural dialogue, if I do say so /br /

This may be a bit of cheesy boasting but I think it's worth mentioning: I scored a 5 (out of 5) on both the AP English Literature and Composition and the AP English Language and Composition exams when I was in high school. I am now currently working as an Administrative Assistant at my university's writing center.

I tend to have a very specific way of interpreting a particular character or story. This means that I am more likely to interrupt a character portrayal as OOC, regardless of whether it is or not. The time I have spent on FanFicition has certainly helped broaden my perspective and I hope betareading do so as /br /

Also, if I am enjoying your story too much, I may end up missing simple errors. I have done this a number of times with past editing jobs, so I encourage anyone who partners with me to do their own proofreading after I am done to make sure I didn't slip up!

I am okay with slash fics but only if the slash is not the focus of the story.
