While I can beta-read to the requirements of the author (purely grammatical editing if requested), I prefer to offer grammar and content edits to improve story flow and cohesion. I offer constructive criticism, as well as praise, but never derogatory comments on writing. I never make unmarked changes to a story, but insert my edits into the document using a different font colour, or bolded text. I also insert comments/suggestions throughout the work in the same manner. The author must then go through the document to see the edited sections, and may choose to accept or delete the suggested changes. I can edit a document fairly quickly, but cannot always be expected to provide immediate beta services unless asked in advance. I am Canadian/British and spell words accordingly (with 'u's in favourite, etc.).

I have a thorough knowledge of all of the categories I have selected, and can edit for content as well as simple grammar and spelling. This means that I can offer suggestions on character development or plot twists and appropriate reactions with regards to canon. I have a large vocabulary and am an excellent speller, and I possess a strong knowledge of the rules of English grammar and punctuation. I am semi-fluent in French - enough to edit French phrases in an English story, but not an entirely French fic - as well as ASL, and some knowledge of latin.

I nitpick grammar and spelling - this may not be your cup of tea if you want to get a story out immediately. While I promise never to alter a story unmarked (see beta profile for my editing style), I do sometimes suggest major rewrites in my edits. If you want a purely spelling/grammar editor, I would not select me.

I can beta anything, but am most comfortable with fics from my selected categories as I have a thorough understanding of the characters and plot lines. I prefer longer fics to shorter ones.

I do not enjoy really out of character portrayals and crackfic; or unnecessary infliction of suffering, either physical or emotional, on the characters.
