I believe that the point of beta-ing is to not only to help in writing, but it is to also improve my own writing styles, and the writing styles of others. As a beta-er, I am able to see from both the writer and reading perspectives of a story, and it is one of my most valuable aspects. Anything that is asked of me is possible, but I will not write the story myself. To know what style of writing I will beta, I usually look at what kind of writing the author has previously written. I expect the authors I beta for to at least have a sense of plot and future expectations for their story.

Grammar, editing, revising, I'm able to do a little bit of everything. If anything in your writing seems choppy or doesn't make sense, I will inform you right away so that you may fix it and/or I will advise some suggestions that might help. As stated above, I am able to see from both the writer and reader perspectives, which helps a lot when beta-ing.

Let's just say, I'm glad Spellcheck and Google where invented, 'cause my spelling is terrible.

I would usually prefer to beta fandoms I'm in (Danny Phantom, Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson, to name just a few), but in my opinion, beta-ing stories outside my comfort-zone helps the author much more.
